As Tapestry Church, we are uniquely called to reflect and display God’s glory to Cochrane. The glory of God is revealed through us—His people—when we live according to His will, embodying His character, and fulfilling His purposes on earth. This is not just an individual responsibility but a collective one, as the body of Christ is united in mission and love.
The Church as the Visible Manifestation of God’s Glory
- The Church Reflects God’s Glory Through Unity
John 17:20-23 (NIV): “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
Key Point: Jesus’ prayer for unity among believers is a powerful way in which God’s glory is made manifest. Our unity as a body of believers—despite differences in culture, background, or personal preference—becomes a testimony of God’s power to reconcile and bring peace.
Application: The world is watching how the Church interacts with itself. If we live in harmony, loving one another despite our differences, it is a reflection of God’s nature. When we are united as one body in Christ, it is a clear sign to the world of God’s divine work and glory. Our unity showcases God’s love and the Gospel’s transformative power.
As Tapestry Church, God’s glory is revealed through us when we embody the principles of the Gospel—unity, love, holiness, service, mission, and worship. Our collective actions, fuelled by the Holy Spirit, demonstrate God’s character to the world, leading others to praise and honour Him. The Church is the body of Christ, and as such, we are His hands and feet on earth, shining His glory wherever we go.
Prayer:
“Father, thank you for the incredible honour of being part of Your Church, the body of Christ. Help us to live in unity, love one another deeply, and proclaim Your Gospel boldly. May our lives reflect Your holiness and glory, and may others see the truth of who You are through the way we live. Empower us to serve sacrificially, worship wholeheartedly, and spread the message of salvation to the ends of the earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
