As a church, we believe we are called to give ourselves away to those around us, especially those who are in need. We do not serve others because we hope to win their favour, or because we feel a sense of obligation or guilt for having been so blessed. We serve because Jesus served, and because he called us to serve others as he has served us. We serve because God is redeeming and renewing the world around us, and he invites us to take part. Being servants is an important part of our identity in Christ. We are a gospel family being transformed for the blessing of the community.
"Tapestry Serve” is our commitment to be intentional about seeking out the needs that we can meet as an expression of our identity in Christ. It may take many forms: serving a pancake breakfast to our neighbours, painting a house, feeding the homeless, helping families recover from natural disasters, or any number of acts of service. We each seek to serve others in our daily lives, but we also find joy in serving together as a family following after Jesus, giving ourselves away.
